An ISSN for your newsletter

Previous topic: Your website
Next topic: Using free services

Your newsletter is a regular publication, a periodical, and thus eligible for an ISSN or International Standard Serial Number. They're the equivalent of the ISBN you see on all books. With an ISSN, you're listed in the official ISSN register (an international database used by libraries and similar organizations.)

Although getting an ISSN is simple and usually free, few email publications ever bother. But it does add that little smidgeon of extra credibility to your newsletter. Just visit the ISSN website and follow the instructions.
