(Survey) Spam shrinks, email marketing grows

...which is a lot better than the other way around. JupiterResearch forecast on Friday that spending on email marketing would rise to $1.1 billion in 2010, from $885 million in 2005. They also suggested spam volume (per consumer) would drop by 13% each year over the same period.

Forget the numbers themselves. The point is that this kind of positive independent forecast itself gives a boost to email marketing as an industry, irrespective of the validity of the numbers themselves.
