Divide and Prosper: explaining segmentation

Intended for those new to the idea of segmentation, this article explains why it's important to split your list into groups, each of which should share similar characteristics. Then you send different emails to each group, using an understanding of those characteristics to make each email more relevant to the recipients.

Rather than assuming you have funky database facilities or email preference centers, the article goes on to describe how you can define your groups simply by observing who clicks on what in previous email messages.
