And over at ClickZ, Derek Harding addresses a critical but oft-forgotten issue, namely that the kind of technical attention you pay to your marketing emails (especially deliverability) is rarely given to the transactional emails.
He presents a few ideas on how to solve the organisational issues that hamper safe delivery of order confirmations and similar.

I see most clients and vendors stuggling with Transactional email is the intial integration of shopping cart and ESP. Have you seen any good general resources on this?

Hi Alex, nice to hear from eROI who have some of my favorite blogs.
No, I've not picked up any good info on integration. Like a lot of stuff, everyone agrees the idea is great, but implementing it is another issue.
