Videos in emails: it can be done

Given all the problems with getting emails to display properly, this case study on a successful campaign featuring videos in emails left me scratching my head with eyebrows a-furrowed.If we can't get simple images to display reliably in emails, how on earth can we get videos to work?
It seems some vendors have the answer. A quick dig around Google brought up the following services. Perhaps they have the solution to your multimedia messaging needs?

Those claiming to be able to send video email always make me chuckle. The only way to reliably play video across different platforms is via Flash, which as we know is automatically blocked by almost every email environment out there.
I'd love to be proven wrong, but am yet to see a decent example of video email out there, no matter what the claims of the provider.
