video tapeNow there's a holy grail if ever there was one. Well, we're not there yet. But SEOmoz describes a small PR by email campaign that comes close.

Looking for some coverage in popular blogs, ecommerce software vendor Elastic Path recorded individual video messages at YouTube for key bloggers in their field, and then sent an email invite to view "their" video to each blogger.

The SEOmoz post explains why it got their attention. And read the responsible marketer's explanation of the whys and hows of the campaign.

Of course it's hard to scale this approach, but maybe there's a seed of an idea in there for B2B email marketers with some small, high-value lists.
