Twitter: email marketing industry accounts

Latest posts | Feed | | By Mark Brownlow

If you want to know if your ESP, software provider or favorite email marketing blog is on Twitter, here's a list I compiled.

Use the comments to let me know of missing accounts.

Some people suggest it's hypocrisy for those involved in email marketing to use Twitter for communication.

I agree. At a recent conference, I had to reprimand an email marketer for talking into a mobile phone. The brazen cheek of the man!

It's the TV ad execs I feel most sorry for. Imagine having to communicate with your loved ones entirely through ad breaks in episodes of House. Your marriage totally at the mercy of TiVo.

Great list! I’m going to have to disagree on your standpoint though – in my opinion, it's definitely not hypocrisy for those involved in email marketing to use Twitter for communication. For email marketers, Twitter posts can significantly supplement and strengthen the messages they’re already communicating via email without making the brand seem pushy or intrusive. ESPs can use it to announce company news, address client concerns and share thought leadership – which can truly benefit parties of interest, or their followers. Lastly, for ESPs and email marketers alike, Twitter adds a more personal dialog to a channel that, unfortunately, is still seen as a one way conversation by many.

I'm with you Erin. I was being sarcastic in the post (perhaps should have made it more obvious).

Your sarcasm was obvious to me. I literally LOL'd at the thought. Love your clever humor. Now I'm on to looking up these folks in your list. Twitter sure is an investment in time...

Thanks Jesh. I'll second your Twitter comment too. Too many Tweets to read, only one of me to read them.
